About HomeFix.wiki
HomeFix.wiki is an independent home-maintenance reference for homeowners. Our goal is simple: give you clear, specific, no-filler answers to the ordinary problems of owning and maintaining a home.
Every guide that touches a safety-critical task — anything involving gas, electricity, structural work, or your family's health — is reviewed by a person before it is published, and carries a visible safety disclaimer. When a job is genuinely dangerous, we say so and tell you to hire a licensed professional rather than talk you into a shortcut.
Editorial review
Editorial review is led by Roger Baumeister, who oversees the accuracy and safety framing of published guides. Reviews focus on whether instructions are correct, whether the safety guidance is honest, and whether regional differences (US vs. elsewhere) are called out where they matter.
What we are not
We are not a substitute for a licensed electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, or structural engineer, and nothing here is professional or legal advice. Building codes, permit requirements, and safe practice vary by state and municipality — always confirm local requirements before starting work. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
How we pay for it
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission when you buy through them — at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
